BAIT was developed by King's QA team to automate the most repetitive parts of visual testing — specifically detecting rendering issues such as missing textures, missing text strings, and graphical elements appearing in the wrong place or overlapping incorrectly. The bot traverses the full catalog of Candy Crush Saga levels systematically, running checks that would be impractical to perform manually at the same frequency and scale. King describes BAIT as supporting testers rather than replacing them, handling what they call "boring, difficult, tedious" tasks so human QA staff can focus on more complex judgment calls.
