AI Trace (aitrace.org) is the flagship project of Trace Foundation, Inc., a Massachusetts nonprofit corporation organized for charitable, educational, and scientific purposes: to develop free public information resources, to educate the public about the impact of technology practices, and to conduct and publish related research.
The AI Trace platform
AI Trace is our first project: a free, community-driven transparency platform tracking corporate AI use. Every entry is backed by cited sources and reviewed by a human moderator before it goes live.
The platform is neutral by design. We document what companies do, not how people should feel about it. There is no paywall, no premium tier, and no advertising.

Researcher access
Our researcher portal at platform.aitrace.org provides API access to AI Trace data for research, journalism, and government use, with documentation and API key requests handled there.
