Claude acts like an AI writing partner that can draft stories, marketing copy, scripts, reports, and other content in seconds. A feature called Artifacts, launched in 2024, lets users generate and interact with live documents, visualizations, and small applications directly inside the chat window.

Anthropic describes Claude as excelling at generating content in a natural, relatable tone across a wide range of formats. The Artifacts feature reached general availability in August 2024, following a preview launch in June 2024, and had already generated tens of millions of user-created items — including code, dashboards, SVG graphics, website mockups, and documents — by its general release date. Users can publish Artifacts publicly and share or remix them. Claude's generative AI capabilities are limited to text and code outputs; the model does not produce images, audio, or video.
