Krafton tested an AI teammate called 'PUBG Ally' inside PUBG: Battlegrounds, which players can squad up with in Arcade Mode; the AI communicates by voice, adapts strategies in real time, fetches items, and assists with revives. Public playtesting in PUBG: Battlegrounds Arcade Mode began in early 2026.

PUBG Ally is built using NVIDIA ACE technology and an on-device Small Language Model (SLM) trained specifically on PUBG game knowledge, including map layouts, item attributes, and terminology. The system supports English, Korean, and Chinese voice communication. Because it runs entirely on the player's local device, latency is very low. Krafton described this as a pilot phase and announced plans to refine the system based on user feedback before broader rollout.
