Native Instruments offers Guitar Rig 7 Pro, a guitar amp and effects simulator that uses a machine learning process called Intelligent Circuit Modeling (ICM) to create digital emulations of real analog amplifiers and effects pedals by training neural networks on physical hardware measurements.

ICM was introduced in Guitar Rig 6 (2020) and expanded in Guitar Rig 7 (2023). The process involves measuring all possible states (variations) of a physical piece of hardware, feeding those measurements into a custom artificial neural network, and allowing the network to derive an algorithm that reproduces the hardware's behavior in fine detail. Guitar Rig 7 Pro includes 26 amp models and multiple pedals built using ICM, which allows the emulation to capture subtle analog imperfections and nuances that traditional modeling techniques could not reproduce.
