When a user uploads a data file, ChatGPT examines its structure and writes Python code to clean, analyze, and visualize the data using standard data science libraries. It can perform statistical operations, spot trends, generate interactive charts, and export results. The feature supports files up to 512 MB including CSV, Excel, PDF, and JSON formats. It is now available by default in GPT-4o and GPT-5 models for ChatGPT Plus, Team, Enterprise, Edu, and Pro subscribers. Tasks that previously required a dedicated data analyst or programming knowledge can now be handled through plain-language prompts.
