The object cutout feature uses machine learning models trained to identify and isolate specific items within photographs (a process called image segmentation). Auto-Collages extend this to advertiser catalogs: the AI curates, cuts out, and groups products based on outfit combinations, user engagement history, and product similarity — eliminating manual creative production work. Pinterest reported that users save auto-collages at twice the rate of standard product Pins, and that collage-format Pins are roughly three times more likely to be saved than regular Pins overall.
