PTC offers ThingWorx, an Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) platform that applies machine learning to sensor and operational data from factory equipment to predict equipment failures and support proactive maintenance decisions. Manufacturers and service organizations use it to shift from reactive to condition-based maintenance strategies.

ThingWorx connects to factory assets and industrial systems via PTC's Kepware data connectivity layer, collecting real-time sensor data. Machine learning models embedded in the platform analyze this data to identify parameters that could cause incidents, predict which parts will fail and when, and perform root cause analysis on production inefficiencies. The system also supports Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) analysis. ThingWorx predictive analytics is offered to enterprise manufacturing customers across sectors including automotive, aerospace, and industrial equipment.
