500px deployed PULSEpx AI Moderation, a system that automatically detects and filters out AI-generated images submitted to photo contests (Quests) on its PULSEpx platform. The feature was announced in January 2025.

According to a January 2025 official 500px blog post, PULSEpx AI Moderation identifies and filters out AI-generated content (AIGC) from contest submissions to ensure only human-created photographs compete. The same system also screens for inappropriate or NSFW content, automatically filtering those images from competitions. PULSEpx is a photo contest sub-platform connected to the 500px community.
