Runway announced a partnership with Lionsgate Entertainment in September 2024 to develop a custom AI video generation model trained on Lionsgate's proprietary catalog of over 20,000 film and television titles, available exclusively to Lionsgate filmmakers and creative talent.

The custom model is designed exclusively for Lionsgate's internal use and cannot be accessed by other Runway users. It is intended to enable Lionsgate's filmmakers, directors, and creative staff to use AI-generated cinematic video for pre-production and post-production workflows, including pre-visualization. This represents Runway's enterprise model customization offering, in which it builds bespoke generative video models for media and entertainment partners.
