Built using OpenAI's generative AI for commentary scripts and Sonantic's voice technology (acquired by Spotify in 2022) to synthesize the DJ voice. The English voice is modeled on a real Spotify employee, Xavier "X" Jernigan. A Spanish-language version launched in July 2024. In May 2025, Spotify added voice request capability, letting users speak to the DJ directly.
