More recent versions of Turnitin include an AI writing detection capability that estimates the likelihood that portions of a submission were generated by tools like ChatGPT. Per UT System policy BT0035, results from Turnitin's AI detection features cannot serve as the sole basis for an academic misconduct finding — they must be paired with additional evidence and faculty review.
