UTK integrated multiple AI features into its Canvas course platform (Online@UT), now branded as IgniteAI, including an AI-powered course search tool, AI discussion summaries, AI-powered translation of course content, and over 20 AI teaching assistant workflows from Khan Academy called Khanmigo Teacher Tools.

OIT has enabled the following IgniteAI features in Online@UT (Canvas): IgniteAI Search (semantic course content search across pages, assignments, and discussions), IgniteAI Summaries for Discussions (AI identifies central themes in discussion threads, available to instructors only), IgniteAI Translations for Discussions, Announcements, and Inbox (AI translates content into supported languages using Claude 3 Haiku for discussions and AWS Translate for inbox messages), and Khanmigo Teacher Tools (20+ AI-powered educator workflows including drafting recommendation letters, building quizzes, and creating lesson plans). All features are embedded directly in Canvas.
