Originally launched as 'Search with Photo' in May 2017, the visual search feature has been enhanced over time with improved object-detection models. When a shopper uploads an image, the AI creates a numerical representation of it and compares it against millions of product images in the catalog to find the closest visual matches. As of June 2025, Wayfair added a 'Find Similar Looks' entry point on selected product detail pages. The system also powers image-based carousels on the Discover tab of the Wayfair app.
