Wellington Management tested a proof-of-concept generative AI system, developed by its Investment Science team in partnership with its Investment Platform Technology group, designed to improve summarization and search of the firm's internal investment research and to introduce chatbot functionality for investment teams.

Wellington's head of Asia Pacific Investments described a proof of concept in which the firm's Investment Science team, working with its Investment Platform Technology group, demonstrated the ability to use generative AI to process and surface insights from the firm's internal investment research. The stated goals were to improve research summarization, improve search across research content, and introduce a chatbot interface for investment teams. The status of this project beyond proof-of-concept stage has not been publicly confirmed as of the most recent source (March 2025).
