Capture One tested an Enhanced Denoise feature in a public beta released May 2026, which uses AI to reduce digital noise in high-ISO photographs while preserving natural texture and skin tones, computed in the background without interrupting the photographer's workflow.

Released in Capture One 16.8 Beta (May 6, 2026), Enhanced Denoise is an extension of the existing Noise Reduction tool. It accepts Bayer-pattern RAW files as input — X-Trans (Fujifilm) files are not yet supported — and processes them using an AI model to generate a denoised sidecar file. The denoising is calculated once per image and reused across all variants. An Impact slider allows the photographer to control how aggressively noise is reduced, from a natural-grain look to a cleaner finish. Processing runs in the background so other editing tasks can continue simultaneously.
