As part of Pearson's broader AI rollout to K-12 in 2024, Connections Academy teachers gained access to AI tools for assessment creation. The tools accept subject, grade level, and course unit as inputs and produce assessment items aligned to the school's curriculum. The tools were adapted from Pearson's higher education courseware AI and teachers can also use AI-based tools to design assessments. This was highlighted by Pearson's CEO at the 2025 AWS Summit in Washington, DC.
