The product was previewed at Microsoft Ignite in November 2025, with pilots and general availability planned for 2026.
Communication Coach, co-developed with Microsoft, sits inside Microsoft 365 (including Teams and Copilot) and continuously analyzes an employee's communication signals — including speech from meetings and written messages — then combines that analysis with Pearson's learning science content. It produces real-time, contextual coaching nudges on grammar, vocabulary, tone, expression, clarity, and professional communication. The tool is powered by Pearson's skills intelligence engine, which draws on data from Faethm and Credly, and is calibrated against Pearson's Global Scale of English proficiency framework.

Pearson deployed Microsoft 365 Copilot to its global workforce of approximately 18,000 employees, expanding from a prior pilot, as part of a multiyear strategic partnership with Microsoft announced in January 2025. The deployment is intended to enhance efficiency, creativity, and productivity across Pearson's internal operations.
After piloting and testing Microsoft 365 Copilot internally, Pearson committed to expanding its deployment to its global workforce as part of the Microsoft-Pearson multiyear partnership announced in January 2025. Microsoft 365 Copilot is an AI assistant integrated into Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Outlook) that uses large language models to help employees draft documents, summarize meetings, and automate routine writing tasks. Pearson described this as part of an ongoing effort to introduce workplace AI tools to drive better operational performance.
Pearson deployed Smart Lesson Generator, an AI tool for English language teachers that produces curriculum-aligned lesson activities in seconds based on the teacher's chosen topic, vocabulary, and proficiency level. As of April 2025, over 4,000 educators worldwide had access to the tool.
Launched in April 2025, Smart Lesson Generator accepts a teacher's selection of activity type (e.g., vocabulary exercise, grammar task, reading comprehension), topic, and language proficiency level as inputs, then uses a large language model to generate a draft activity. All generated content is filtered through Pearson's Global Scale of English (GSE) — a proficiency framework from 10 to 90 — to ensure level-appropriateness before delivery. The tool works with Pearson courseware and with non-Pearson materials. A Pearson study found that 76% of teachers spend at least one hour of personal time per week on lesson planning.
