Pearson deployed an AI-powered tool for instructors inside its MyLab and Mastering platforms that takes instructor inputs and automatically generates personalized course assignments, saving educators time on administrative task design. The tool was initially available for the Fall 2024 semester across 25 US titles in business, math, science, and nursing.

Announced in July 2024 and integrated into MyLab and Mastering starting August 2024, the instructor AI tool takes an educator's specified parameters — subject, topic, learning objectives — and produces a set of assignment questions drawn from Pearson's content library. Instructors can then review, modify, and assign the generated content to students. Thousands of instructors use MyLab and Mastering to design courses, assign homework, and monitor student progress. A Pearson Skills Outlook report projected that generative AI could save US educators nearly 3 million hours of administrative work per week by 2026.
