Pearson deployed a generative AI-powered study tool embedded inside its MyLab, Mastering, Revel, and Pearson+ eTextbook platforms that answers student questions, explains concepts, and provides step-by-step homework guidance on demand. As of late 2024, more than two million US higher education students had access to these tools across over 100 course titles.

The AI study tool, first integrated into Pearson's proprietary academic content in summer 2023, accepts student text queries about course material and produces personalized explanations, summaries, practice questions, and guided problem-solving steps. It is built on generative AI and draws only from vetted Pearson content to limit inaccurate responses. By fall 2024, AI sessions in MyLab and Mastering had increased 95% year-over-year, and the tool was available in select Revel courses and eTextbooks in addition to MyLab and Mastering.
