Details
Introduced with Battlefield 2042 at launch in 2021. In the main Conquest and Breakthrough modes, AI Soldiers are added automatically to reach the 128-player target count and cannot be disabled by players. The AI cannot use Specialist character classes. In the game's Portal mode, players can customize AI behavior settings. EA described the AI Soldiers as intended to "play the game like how you would play it yourself." The mandatory nature of the feature drew criticism from players who preferred all-human matches.
