Per Epic's own technical documentation, Contex.ai's machine learning tools complement human moderation efforts by detecting inappropriate audio, text, and images. For voice reporting — launched in 2023 and expanded to Rocket League and Fall Guys in March 2025 — the system captures the last five minutes of voice chat on the player's device when a report is submitted, then transcodes and cryptographically signs the recording before sending it for automated screening followed by human review. Automated text screening runs continuously for all in-game chats involving players under 18. For content submitted to the Unreal Editor for Fortnite (UEFN), Epic reviews approximately 4,000 island submissions daily, with machine learning flagging submissions that contain stolen assets, malicious code, or suspicious metadata. Epic's privacy policy (November 2025) confirms the company trains "machine learning technologies to detect and moderate illegal, harmful, toxic, and fraudulent conduct and content."
