A December 16, 2025 Bloomberg article reported that Larian staff were using generative AI tools to write placeholder text during early Divinity development. At a January 9, 2026 Reddit AMA, Writing Director Adam Smith clarified that a limited group had experimented with text generation tools for research purposes only, and that no AI-generated text touches dialogue, journal entries, or any other written content in Divinity. Separately, CEO Swen Vincke stated in a December 2025 IGN statement that Larian is continuously increasing its pool of writers and storytellers and is not looking to trim teams in favor of AI.
