The V1 Video Model, released on June 19, 2025, takes a single image (either generated by Midjourney or uploaded by the user) plus an optional text prompt describing motion, and outputs a five-second animated video clip at approximately 480p resolution. Users can extend the video in four-second increments up to a maximum of 21 seconds. Two motion settings — Low Motion and High Motion — control the intensity of movement. The feature is available exclusively through the midjourney.com web interface (not via Discord) and is included in all subscription plans starting at $10/month, though each video job consumes approximately eight times more GPU processing time than a single image generation. HD video output (720p) is available on Standard tier ($30/month) and above.
