Pantone offers the Pantone Palette Generator, a chat-based AI tool inside its Pantone Connect platform that generates Pantone-indexed color palettes for designers based on natural-language prompts. The tool was launched in open beta in November 2025 and is available to all Pantone Connect users, including those on free accounts.

The Palette Generator is built on Microsoft Azure OpenAI and uses Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) and agentic technology to semantically search Pantone's proprietary Color Insider articles and trend forecasting content, grounding each palette suggestion in Pantone Color Institute research. Users type descriptive prompts — such as 'Show me colors that evoke optimism in Gen Z' — and receive Pantone-indexed palettes alongside the forecasting rationale behind each selection. At launch, the tool supported Pantone's Fashion, Home & Interiors library, with plans to expand to the full Pantone catalog.
