Schneider Electric deployed an AI feature in its Wiser Home app that automatically schedules and optimizes the charging of electric vehicles and operation of water heaters based on a household's usage habits, real-time energy prices, weather forecasts, and solar production. As of September 2024, this feature is live for Wiser Home users in Spain, Portugal, France, Germany, and Austria.

The Wiser Home AI feature uses a predictive algorithm developed entirely in-house at Schneider Electric's AI Hub. It receives inputs including user behavioral data, real-time weather forecasts, variable electricity tariffs, power contract limits, and solar generation data, and produces optimized charging and heating schedules for enrolled devices. The feature adapts to user preferences over time and all user data is retained by Schneider Electric with no external data transfers. Schneider Electric describes it as a market-first for managing both EV chargers and water heaters via a single app.
