Stability AI offers Stable Code, a family of open-source large language models designed to help developers write, complete, and understand programming code across multiple languages. The models are available for self-hosting and commercial use under Stability AI's membership or community license.

Stable Code 3B is a 2.7 billion parameter decoder-only language model pre-trained on 1.3 trillion tokens across 18 programming languages including Python, JavaScript, Java, C++, and Go. It supports Fill-in-the-Middle (FIM) completion and a context window of up to 16,384 tokens, enabling it to process multiple files simultaneously. Stable Code Instruct 3B adds natural language instruction following, supporting tasks such as code generation, translation, database queries, and code explanation. The model family was first introduced as StableCode Alpha in August 2023.
