StableLM models range from 1.6 billion to 12 billion parameters and are released under permissive licenses (CC BY-SA-4.0 for base models). They are pre-trained on trillions of tokens across multilingual datasets and fine-tuned variants support conversational instruction following. Stable LM 2 12B powers the text generation capabilities within Stable Assistant. The models are designed to run on consumer hardware and are available on GitHub and Hugging Face.
