My Assistant was launched on August 30, 2023, and is accessible via desktop and through the Me@Campus employee app on mobile. It is built using Microsoft Azure's AI services. By January 2024, Walmart announced plans to expand the tool to employees in 11 countries. Walmart has positioned My Assistant as augmenting rather than replacing employees, with CEO Doug McMillon publicly stating that AI is changing how the company's work gets done. The tool is explicitly not available in stores — it targets corporate, finance, marketing, and technology staff.
