Runway announced GWM Robotics in December 2025, an AI model that generates synthetic video training data for robot policy development and enables simulation-based testing of robotic systems, available to robotics firms and enterprises via a Python SDK by request.

GWM Robotics is one of three variants of Runway's GWM-1 General World Model family, built on the Gen-4.5 video generation architecture using an autoregressive frame-by-frame approach. It takes robotics datasets and augments them with synthetic data varying parameters such as changing weather, novel objects, and environmental conditions. Developers can also test robot policy models inside the simulation instead of deploying to physical hardware. Runway describes the system as available via a Python SDK by request; the company stated it was in active conversations with robotics firms and enterprises at launch.
