Canva offers Magic Design, an AI tool that generates fully styled, editable design layouts — including presentations, social media posts, and videos — from a text prompt or uploaded media, available to all users in English.

Magic Design pairs OpenAI's API with Canva's own AI design engine and a library of over 100 million assets and templates to produce complete, on-brand design layouts from a user's description or uploaded image. It accepts a text prompt or media upload and produces a set of customizable, layered designs in formats such as presentations, social posts, flyers, and videos. The system has been trained and evaluated by Canva's in-house design team. Canva launched its own proprietary Canva Design Model in October 2025, described as the world's first design-aware AI that understands layout, hierarchy, and brand logic.
