Users choose from a range of voices across multiple accents and languages and can adjust speed and tone. The resulting audio can be added directly to Canva videos, presentations, and other designs. Free users can preview a selection of voices; Canva Pro and higher plans unlock additional voice options. The feature supports multiple languages, with sources citing over 120 AI voices and support for 20+ languages in the native tool.

Magic Write is powered by OpenAI's API and uses a large language model to produce text based on user prompts. As of the Canva newsroom, users have written over 10 billion words using Magic Write. Free users receive 25–50 queries; Canva Pro users receive additional access. The tool launched in 2022.
