Capture One offers an AI-powered Focus Tool that automatically detects faces and eyes in photos, zooming in on the relevant area so photographers can quickly check whether a subject's face or eyes are in sharp focus during the culling process.

Introduced in Capture One 16.3 (October 2023), the Focus Tool uses AI to automatically detect faces in an image and positions the zoom view to center on the largest or most prominent face. It includes modes for centering on the full face or specifically on the eyes (Snap to Eye). When multiple faces are detected, the largest face is selected by default. An enhanced AI model improving center-to-eye and center-to-face accuracy was added in version 16.5.2. The tool works both during tethered shooting and while browsing images manually.
