IBM offers watsonx.governance, a toolkit that helps enterprise customers monitor AI models for bias, drift, and compliance with regulations, generally available since the launch of the watsonx platform in May 2023.

Watsonx.governance tracks AI models across their full lifecycle—from development through production—detecting issues such as model bias, data drift, and hallucinations. It automates compliance documentation and maps AI use cases to regulatory frameworks, including the EU AI Act. The platform supports models built on IBM's own tools as well as third-party AI platforms (e.g., Amazon SageMaker). It includes factsheets that automatically collect and document model metadata for audit purposes. IBM was named a Leader in the 2026 Gartner Magic Quadrant for AI Governance Platforms.
