The product became generally available in early 2024 and expanded to nurses and radiologists by 2025.

Dragon Copilot uses ambient AI and large language models (including OpenAI's GPT-4 via Azure OpenAI Service) to capture multi-party clinical conversations and convert them into specialty-specific structured clinical notes. Physicians review and approve the draft before it is transferred to the EHR. As of late 2025, the product supports physicians, nurses, and radiologists, and is generally available in the US, Canada, the UK, and select European countries.
