Prime Video launched a pilot program in March 2025 that uses AI voice synthesis to add dubbed audio tracks to movies and TV shows that had no dubbing available before. Human localization professionals review and refine the AI-generated audio before it goes live.

The pilot launched with 12 licensed titles translated into English and Latin American Spanish, including El Cid: La Leyenda, Mi Mamá Lora, and Long Lost. Amazon's stated policy is that AI-aided dubbing is only applied to titles with no existing dubbed track, meaning no previously dubbed work is being replaced. Amazon researchers are also working on visual speech-to-speech translation to improve lip-sync alignment. The program was announced for further expansion at the Prime Engage Summit in June 2025.
