Prime Video launched a pilot program in March 2025 that uses AI voice synthesis to add dubbed audio tracks to movies and TV shows that had no dubbing available before. Human localization professionals review and refine the AI-generated audio before it goes live.

The pilot launched on March 5, 2025 with 12 licensed titles in English and Latin American Spanish, including El Cid: La Leyenda, Mi Mamá Lora, and Long Lost. Amazon's stated policy is that AI-aided dubbing is only applied to titles with no existing dubbed track. Amazon researchers are also working on a visual speech-to-speech translation framework to improve lip-sync alignment. By late November 2025, Amazon had added AI-generated dubs labeled 'AI beta' to additional anime titles including Banana Fish, No Game No Life Zero, and Vinland Saga; following backlash from voice actors and fans, Amazon removed the English-language AI dubs for several of those titles in December 2025, though some Spanish-language AI dubs remained on the platform.
