Prime Video is investing in AI systems to preserve picture quality for viewers on slow internet connections and to convert older standard-definition content into high-definition quality. As of June 2025, this was described as an active investment rather than a fully deployed feature.

Announced at the Prime Engage Summit in June 2025 by Prime Video's Director of Product and Data, Tricia Lee, the initiative covers two areas: protecting visual detail when video is compressed heavily for low-bandwidth mobile connections, and remastering standard-definition catalog titles by using AI to upscale and enhance resolution. AI is also used to detect and flag subtitle and frame-rate discrepancies in the content pipeline. The remastering program was described as an "opportunity" — indicating it may still be in development or early deployment.
