Prime Video operates a multi-agent AI system that monitors streaming quality across all 315 million viewers globally in real time, automatically detecting problems — such as widespread buffering or audio failures — and helping engineers diagnose and resolve them faster.

Presented at AWS re:Invent 2025, the system uses Amazon Bedrock and a framework called Strands Agents to coordinate multiple specialized AI components: a Request Handler, a Routing Agent, and Analysis Sub-Agents that investigate specific problem types. The underlying data pipeline, built on Apache Flink, processes real-time metrics from millions of devices and saves system checkpoints every 70 seconds to maintain continuity during high-traffic events. During Thursday Night Football peaks, the system handles concurrent viewing by approximately 18 million users.
