Shopify deployed Agentic Storefronts, a feature that makes merchant product catalogs discoverable and purchasable within AI chat platforms such as ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Microsoft Copilot, using a single setup in the Shopify admin.

Launched as part of the Winter '26 Edition in December 2025, Agentic Storefronts connects merchant product data — including schemas, metafields, policies, and brand FAQs via the Knowledge Base app — to external AI shopping agents. When a user on a compatible AI platform searches for products, Shopify merchants' products can appear and be purchased without the shopper leaving the AI conversation. Merchants can control which platforms display their products and view attribution data in their Shopify admin. The feature is available to all Shopify merchants.
