First introduced in beta as part of the ToastIQ launch in May 2025 and expanded with AI-driven recommendations in the Spring 2026 release, Menu Upsells surfaces high-margin item suggestions and add-on recommendations across server handhelds, POS terminals, kiosks, and guest-facing displays. The system receives order data as input and outputs a specific suggested upsell item or pairing at the moment a server is taking or reviewing an order. According to Toast's Spring 2026 release, transactions involving Menu Upsells are on average over 35% higher for full-service and quick-service restaurants compared to control groups.
