Framer offers a plugin framework that lets developers connect external AI models — including OpenAI, Anthropic, and Google Gemini — directly into the Framer editor to automate tasks such as image generation, text rewriting, and alt text creation. This capability is available to all Framer users who install compatible plugins.

Framer's AI plugin system allows third-party developers to build and publish plugins that connect large language models and image generation models to the Framer canvas. Published examples include plugins for AI-driven text rewriting, SEO content generation, image generation, and alt text creation. Users can also connect their own API keys from models like GPT-4, Claude, and Gemini via third-party plugins available in the Framer Marketplace. This is a platform-level capability rather than a single first-party AI feature.

Framer offers Workshop, a built-in AI coding assistant that generates custom interactive website components from plain-language descriptions, without requiring users to write any code. Launched at Framer's Spring 2025 event, it is available to all users.

Workshop takes a text description of a desired component — such as a live clock, cookie banner, or visual effect — and generates a working React component directly within the Framer editor. Generated components automatically match the site's existing fonts and colors, include built-in property controls, and are optimized for performance and memory efficiency. The feature was updated in June 2025 to support Anthropic's Claude 4 model for improved code quality. Tasks that previously required a developer to hand-write React code can now be completed by designers through a chat-style interface.

Framer deployed Advanced Analytics in May 2025, which includes a built-in A/B testing tool that automatically splits website traffic between page variants and uses a Bayesian statistical model to identify a winning version. This feature is available as an add-on for Launch and Scale plan subscribers.

The A/B testing feature allows Framer users to create multiple variants of a page (up to five) directly within the Framer editor without external scripts or third-party tools. Framer automatically distributes visitor traffic evenly across variants and tracks conversion events such as page views, link clicks, and form submissions. The system uses a cookie-free Bayesian model and declares a winner when one variant reaches over 90% probability of being the best performer. Results including conversion rate, lift, and probability metrics are displayed within the Analytics tab of the Framer editor.
