The AI Styles feature was introduced in Corel Painter 2021 (released June 2020) with 12 curated styles; it uses Apple's Core ML framework for optimization on Mac hardware. The core style transfer technology was first introduced in Corel Painter Essentials 7 (released October 2019) with 8 AI-based auto-painting presets, each trained to recreate the look of real-world source images such as pencil drawings and oil or watercolor paintings.
