Figma offers AI tools within Figma Design that automate repetitive file-organization and prototyping tasks, including automatically renaming design layers based on their content and context, and automatically connecting static design screens into clickable prototypes. These features were announced at Config 2024 and are available to users with a Full seat on paid plans.

The Rename Layers feature uses AI to contextually rename layers that still use Figma's default naming convention (for example, 'Group 27') based on their visual content and type; it skips layers the designer has already named. The Make Prototype feature lets users select frames on the canvas and have AI automatically add navigation connections between them, which users can then review, edit, or remove. Both features are described by Figma as saving designers time on tasks that take away from higher-value design work.
