Getty Images offers AI-powered image modification tools that allow customers to edit existing stock photos or AI-generated images directly on the Getty platform without third-party software. Features include adding elements, removing elements, extending image canvases, and replacing backgrounds, and were made available on iStock in July 2024 and on Getty Images shortly after.

The modification suite includes Add, Remove, Extend, and Replace Background tools accessible via the 'Modify with AI' button. A November 2024 update added a Product Placement feature, enabling customers to upload product photos and generate backgrounds around them. A 'Click' feature, also described by Getty as Segment Anything, was also added; it automatically scans and identifies individual elements in an image, allowing users to select one or more segments for replacement or removal. Modified images include Getty Images' standard legal indemnification per image.
