iRobot deployed PrecisionVision Navigation, an AI computer vision system, in select Roomba robot vacuums to identify and steer around household obstacles such as pet waste, charging cables, socks, and shoes during cleaning runs. The feature is available on Roomba j-series and Plus 500 models sold globally.

PrecisionVision Navigation uses a front-facing camera and LED to visually classify objects on the floor and automatically route around them in real time. On supported models, users can opt into 'Obstacle Image Review,' which lets the robot photograph encountered obstacles and send images to the iRobot Home App for user feedback, helping the system improve over time. The technology was first introduced with the Roomba j7/j7+ in 2021 and has expanded to subsequent model lines including the 2025 lineup.
