iRobot deployed iRobot OS across its Wi-Fi-connected Roomba and Braava robot products to analyze each user's cleaning history and habits and offer personalized schedule recommendations, suggested clean zones, and keep-out zone proposals through the iRobot Home App. This platform launched publicly in August 2020 as iRobot Genius and was rebranded as iRobot OS in May 2022.

Using machine learning, iRobot OS tracks cleaning frequency, locations of dirt events, areas where the robot has gotten stuck, and user schedules to proactively surface recommendations such as adding a precision clean zone near a kitchen table or avoiding a tangle-prone area near a TV stand. The system also provides seasonal suggestions, such as more frequent cleaning during pet-shedding season, and uses phone geolocation (when enabled) to trigger cleaning sessions when the user leaves home. The platform works across all current Wi-Fi-connected Roomba, Roomba Combo, and Braava jet robots.
