Practice documented: A24 used an AI image generator to create a series of promotional posters for its film Civil War in April 2024. The posters depicted war-torn scenes at US landmarks that do not appear in the movie itself.

A24 integrated an AI voice synthesis tool called Respeecher into the post-production of its film The Brutalist (2024) to enhance the Hungarian-language dialogue spoken by lead actors Adrien Brody and Felicity Jones. The tool adjusted specific vowel and consonant sounds to make the actors' Hungarian more authentic to native speakers.

The Brutalist's editor, Dávid Jancsó, disclosed in a January 2025 interview with Red Shark News that AI tools from Ukrainian company Respeecher were used to tweak specific vowels and letters in the Hungarian dialogue spoken by Brody and Jones. Respeecher works by taking a reference speaker's phonetic characteristics and applying them to another speaker's recorded audio. Director Brady Corbet clarified in a statement to Deadline that only certain Hungarian-language lines were affected and that no English-language dialogue was altered; both actors had also worked extensively with a dialect coach prior to filming. The use of AI in a film that went on to receive ten Academy Award nominations drew public debate about AI's role in performance and awards eligibility.

A24 announced a multi-year research partnership with Google DeepMind in June 2026, backed by a reported $75 million investment from Google. The partnership is developing AI tools for filmmakers, with an AI storyboard generator as the first confirmed application in development.

Announced on June 22, 2026, the partnership is structured as a non-exclusive research and development collaboration run through A24 Labs under Scott Belsky. DeepMind researchers will embed inside A24 productions to build and refine tools using real filmmaker feedback. The deal does not give Google access to A24's film library or content data. A24 partner Scott Belsky told the Wall Street Journal the tools 'won't look anything like the prompted generation type of AI that people feel uncomfortable with,' and that A24 Labs was already prototyping an AI storyboard generator at the time of announcement. A24 spokesperson Sophia Shin described it as a 'research partnership' and stated A24 is 'working side-by-side with DeepMind's researchers to learn, iterate, and build.'

A24 announced A24 Labs, an internal AI division, in early 2025, led by former Adobe executive Scott Belsky. The division is building AI tools for internal use, including predictive marketing, audience discovery, and creative pre-production aids for filmmakers.

Scott Belsky joined A24 as a partner in January 2025 and founded A24 Labs, described by The New Yorker as focused on 'integrating artificial intelligence into company practices.' According to reporting from The New Yorker (published August 2025), Belsky's mandate includes developing internal tools in the areas of predictive marketing and audience discovery, as well as offering filmmakers AI-assisted creative tools — such as using a large language model to explore character psychology and pre-visualizing characters, costumes, and scenes before production begins. A24 also courted investor Thrive Capital specifically for its AI connections, including its backing of OpenAI. As of mid-2025, the division was still in early formation and its specific deployed tools had not been publicly confirmed.
