ProductivityNew evidence: How Circle Built An AI To Run Creator Businesses From The Inside Out
Evidence AddedView practice →Circle deployed Circle AI, an AI assistant that helps administrators build and manage their community business through conversation — proposing community structures, configuring settings, analyzing member data, and recommending operational actions. Beta rollout began June 16, 2026, with full access to all customers planned by August 2026.
Circle AI launches with 50+ purpose-built skills across 12 domains including Community Setup, Member Management, Content, Monetization, and Growth Strategy. When an administrator describes their community concept in natural language, Circle AI proposes a complete structure — spaces, access groups, landing pages, and paywall configurations — and builds it with the administrator's approval. The system is trained on anonymized patterns from 20,000 Circle communities to provide recommendations grounded in real platform performance data. A daily brief greets admins with a summary of recent community activity and recommended next actions. Circle has explicitly stated that Circle AI is designed to help administrators run their business, not to generate content on their behalf.
Circle offers Activity Scores, a machine-learning feature that assigns each community member a weekly engagement score from 1 to 10 based on their activity over the past 30 days, benchmarked against activity data from other communities on the platform. Scores are visible only to community administrators.
The machine learning model analyzes four behavioral signals: Presence (visits), Contribution (posts and comments), Participation (likes and event RSVPs), and Connection (active direct messages). Scores are updated weekly and benchmarked against data from other Circle communities to normalize for seasonality and community-specific activity levels. Administrators can enable or disable individual scoring factors in Community AI settings. Activity Scores can be used as filters in Circle's workflow engine to trigger automated actions such as sending targeted emails or invitations to specific engagement segments.
Circle offers AI Agents — customizable chatbots that community administrators can train on their own content to answer member questions, onboard new members, and provide coaching around the clock. Admins on Circle Plus plans can deploy up to 10 agents, each configured for different tasks.
AI Agents use Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG): when a member asks a question, the system searches the community's knowledge engine for relevant content, then passes those results to a large language model (LLM) to generate a response. Agents are trained on posts, course materials, PDFs, and custom text snippets uploaded by the community administrator. All agent conversations appear in a shared AI Inbox, where admins can monitor interactions in real time and manually take over any conversation. Circle states that community data is not used to train external AI or LLM models.
