Amazon Q Business is an AI assistant AWS offers to enterprise employees, allowing them to ask questions in plain language and get answers drawn from their company's own internal documents, databases, and software systems. It became generally available in April 2024.

Amazon Q Business takes natural language questions from employees as input and produces text answers, summaries, and generated content as output, drawing on indexed enterprise data sources connected via more than 40 built-in connectors (including Salesforce, Slack, SharePoint, and Amazon S3). Responses include citations pointing to source documents. Administrators can configure what topics the assistant will or will not address, and the system respects existing user identity permissions so employees only see answers from data they are already authorized to access. A workflow automation capability (allowing users to upload standard operating procedures and auto-generate repeatable workflows) was announced as a forthcoming feature on the official product page as of mid-2026.

Amazon Personalize is an AWS service that offers businesses a fully managed machine learning engine to build custom recommendation systems for their own websites, apps, emails, and marketing campaigns. It has been generally available since June 2019 and is based on the same recommendation technology used internally by Amazon.com.

Amazon Personalize takes user behavioral data (clicks, purchases, page views, signups), item catalogs, and optional user demographic data as input, and produces ranked recommendation lists as output — including personalized product or content recommendations, similar-item recommendations, personalized search result ranking, and next-best-action suggestions. The service automatically processes data, selects algorithms, trains and hosts models, and updates them in near real time as user behavior changes. As of 2025, it supports Transformer-based v2 recipes, a Content Generator feature using generative AI to create themed narratives around recommendation lists, and integration with Amazon Bedrock for AI-generated item descriptions and metadata enrichment.

AWS deployed AWS Security Agent, an AI agent that automatically reviews application code and architecture for vulnerabilities and runs penetration tests on demand throughout the software development process. It launched in preview in December 2025 and the penetration testing capability reached general availability in six regions on March 31, 2026.

AWS Security Agent takes application architecture documents, source code, and organizational security policy definitions as input and produces security violation reports, vulnerability findings with CVSS risk scores, attack chain documentation, and remediation suggestions as output. It covers three phases: design review (analyzing architecture documents against security requirements), code review (scanning code against organizational standards integrated into pull request workflows), and on-demand penetration testing (autonomously executing multi-step attack scenarios against running applications). At launch, the design review and code review features were available as preview in US East (N. Virginia); the penetration testing feature reached general availability in six regions (N. Virginia, Oregon, Ireland, Frankfurt, Sydney, and Tokyo) on March 31, 2026. AWS Security Incident Response, a related service, adds AI-powered investigation capabilities to accelerate security event response.
